Part I of the insomnia quilts: asleep/awake. Sleep patterns change over the course of one’s life. The stage of late childhood (ages 6/7-11/12) can be considered the golden age of sleep patterns, defined by being the longest duration of uninterrupted sleep.

asleep is inspired by a scrap bag of vintage sheets, that included a daisy design identical to the sheets (and curtains!) of my late childhood. Another night of insomnia sparked the desired to cast a spell for the sleepful nights in my childhood bedroom.
