Sometimes the quilt narrates the story for you.
This quilt was begun as a “map quilt” prompt during @zakfoster.quilts Narrative Quilt Making class at @penlandschool @penlandtextiles Spring Concentration 2025. The map details a neighborhood friendship. A memory is recorded with each stitch. As the stitching became denser, the memories became darker and the emotions became heavier, culminating at the end of the week with the news of the euthanasia of a beloved pet.
This quilt is a “living quilt” that will be continually added to, until the day when we are no longer neighbors.
