A rage quilt protesting the death of Roe v. Wade, which has resulted in documented preventable deaths of pregnant women. Stitched into the quilt are the names of nine dead women who were denied life-saving health care due to state abortion bans.
These women's tragic deaths represent only a fraction of those denied vital abortion care as appropriate health care. The quilt remains a living monument; its canvas will inevitably grow as long as abortion bans persist across the United States. As I stitched, I reflected on how drastically my own life might have changed had my childbearing years not safely aligned with the life of Roe v. Wade.
